Sauna Steam Generator

The steam generator is one of the main equipment in a steam sauna. This device, by creating the necessary humidity in the steam sauna, can bring mental relaxation and physical rejuvenation to its users. In this section, we intend to introduce the sauna steam generator, its equipment, and its various types.

What is a Steam Sauna?

A steam sauna is a small room filled with steam. This room is fully insulated to prevent the escape of heat and steam. The main features of a steam sauna include its high temperature and humidity. A steam sauna typically has a temperature between 40 to 50 degrees Celsius and its humidity is approximately 100 percent. This humidity is created in the form of steam through vents installed in the sauna walls.

Due to the high heat of the steam and the possibility of burns, these vents are installed in a way that the steam rises towards the floor. Under the sauna benches is the safest place to install these vents for safety reasons.

The steam sauna is referred to as one of the popular types of saunas. The use of a steam sauna significantly impacts reducing stress and blood pressure. Additionally, due to the high steam and humidity, it is very effective in treating colds and sinus infections.

What is a Steam Generator?

Heating and creating the necessary steam in a steam sauna require special equipment. A sauna steam generator is a device responsible for heating water and converting it into steam in the sauna. This device distributes the steam, which is the result of heating water, at a pressure of 1.2 atmospheres and at a distance of 10 centimeters through vents installed in the sauna. Steam generators are equipped with control equipment to control the humidity and temperature of the sauna.

Equipment of Steam Generator

A sauna steam generator is a device that does not have much complexity in terms of equipment and structure. The equipment of this device includes the following:

– Water inlet valve: Water enters the generator tank through the water inlet valve.
– Water tank: The water tank is made of stainless steel, which is durable and of high quality. Nowadays, some steam generator models have 2 water tanks.
– Control equipment: With technological advancements, newer models of steam generators also include additional features such as control equipment. Steam generator controllers are digital and waterproof, and they can be installed inside and outside the sauna.
– Heating element: The energy required to heat the elements is supplied through electricity. As the temperature of the elements increases, the water in the generator tank heats up.
– Drain valve: The sauna steam generator is equipped with an automatic drainage system, eliminating the need for manual drainage.

Types of Steam Sauna Generators

Steam generators are classified into different types based on having certain features such as automatic or manual drainage, aromatic oil reservoir, digital panel for temperature and humidity control, and electrical power.

To choose a suitable steam sauna generator, the dimensions of the sauna should be considered. Approximately 1.4 kilowatts of power is required for creating the necessary steam per cubic meter. This means a 6-kilowatt steam generator can be suitable for a space of about 8 cubic meters.
