Pool Heat Exchangers

The Role of Heat Exchangers in Pool and Jacuzzi Heating

Heat exchangers play a significant role in heating pools and jacuzzis. Pools that utilize heat exchanger systems maintain the water temperature at a comfortable level for swimming throughout the year. In this article, we will explore the various types of pool heat exchangers and their applications in different pools.

Application of Heat Exchangers in Pool Heating Systems
During the colder seasons, the desire to swim decreases due to the unsuitable water temperatures in some pools. Swimming in cold water is not enjoyable for everyone and can lead to colds and severe muscle cramps.

To enjoy this water sport and rejuvenate physically and mentally, the pool water temperature must be maintained at a suitable level. Experts in this delightful sport consider the ideal swimming water temperature to be around 27 degrees Celsius.

There are various methods for heating pool and jacuzzi water, one of which is using a heat exchanger. Pools equipped with a hot water boiler can use a heat exchanger to heat the pool water.

What is a Heat Exchanger?
A heat exchanger transfers heat from one fluid to another without mixing it. In pools, the heat exchanger transfers heat from the hot water to the cold water without mixing.

To explain a heat exchanger simply and clearly, it has two parallel streams of hot and cold water. In the core of the exchanger, heat is transferred from the hot water to the cold water, which is then directed towards the pool.

Types of Heat Exchangers
There are various types of heat exchangers, such as shell tubes, and plate exchangers, for different applications. Plate heat exchangers operate similarly to shell and tube heat exchangers, using plates for fluid flow.

However, plate heat exchangers are not suitable for pools due to the chlorine in the water and high deposits on the plates. The best type of heat exchanger for pools is the shell and tube type.
